Fire Safety

This month we learned about fire safety.
We learned that we do not play with fire, if our clothes catch on fire we stop, drop, and roll, and we learned that we need to have a meeting place outside our homes. We had a wonderful visit from the Norway fire department  and learned how to read the fire extinguisher to see if it is ready to be used. The students looked for the needle to be in the "green". You can have your child check at home too. We also learned about the importance of fire alarms and checking your batteries each season. If you haven't checked your fire alarms, please do so with your child.

We learned what a firefighter looks like when they are dressed in all of their gear. We also learned that if we see them and we are in a smokey house that we should go with them and not to be afraid of them in all their gear, even though they look and sound different than they normally do.

Sparky came to visit! We weren't all sure that we were comfortable around Sparky, so some students chose to keep their distance :-)

We all were so excited to check out the fire truck and go inside!!
