Collaborative Learning in Math

In math we have worked on doing story problems with a group of peers. The students have done a wonderful job working with others, taking turns, and problem solving together. Here are some pictures of some of the students working together.

1st Trimester Assembly

We had our first trimester assembly on Thursday and it was a lot of fun! The Oxford Hills High School's basketball teams came over to show is their warmup routines.

And we had awards for good citizen and perseverance.

These are the students from Mrs. Gray's and Mrs. Fleming's class.
Today students will get their report cards and school pride award (for all 3 and 4 scores on their behaviors that support learning). Great job to everyone on working hard this first trimester. You have all learned so much!

December Fun!

During our first week in December we were learning all about gingerbread. We read a variety of gingerbread books and compared the characters, refrains, and endings. In science we did an experiment to find out if the gingerbread man would be able to cross the river on his own. We found out that the gingerbread man would sink, break apart, and turn to mush.

We also had a blast making gingerbread houses. Mrs. Foster came in to help us, she typically reads to us every Wednesday, but she can in to help us make these instead!

And here is a picture of us right before our Kindergarten Concert, all ready to go and a little nervous too! They did such a great job!

And here is a video of our performance!! I had to break it into 2 parts so it could fit. ENJOY!
