Easter Egg Hunt

We had a fun meeting the Easter Bunny and collecting Easter eggs!

Dental Health

Here are some great photos of the kids learning about dental health.

We have an app that helps us learn about teeth, brushing, and flossing. The kids had a great time with it.

Here we were trying to figure out the secret sight words!

Students were able to make teeth, floss and make braces with this fun activity.
We worked on being silent e detectives and reading words that have a long vowel sound because of a silent e at the end.

To end our unit we finally got a chance to look at our eggs that had been soaking in soda for the whole week. We  were not able to get all of the brown off of the eggs. The students were really surprised and learned how important it is to brush your teeth and eat healthy food.

Science: Weather, Weather- Everywhere!

In our last science unit we were leaning about weather. We learned about different types of weather, clouds and rain, as well as how heat comes from the sun, and the power of wind. Here are some pictures of us learning.
We observed the power of the sun by watching to see which objects melted. We observed a pop cube, chocolate, butter, pencil, crayon, soap, and an ice cube
Here we watched to see what happens when a cloud (shaving cream) fills up with water (food coloring).

At this station we matched appropriate clothing to the weather in the picture.
We also sorted seasonal objects and matched them to the correct season.

Here we drew a picture of a weather word or season and wrote the words to match.

To end our weather unit the students made sun shelters to protect their crayon so it would not melt.

Math Fun

Here are some pictures of us working on teen numbers, building with pattern blocks

We were spinning a spinner reading how many tens and ones that we needed and then building it with manipulatives.

We have been exploring geo blocks for a while and are working on learning the names of the shapes. The difficult ones are hexagon, rhombus, and trapezoid.

Lynn Plourde

Here are some fun pictures from when Lynn Plourde came to school.

These pictures were taken  during the assembly and students helped to act out the story Pigs in the Mud.

We dressed up to honor the book You're Wearing That to School?

At night she read Grand Pappy Snippy Snappies
We love to read!!
