A Famous Third Grader and Pumpkins

One of my previous students made a guest appearance. She wrote a Halloween story for our Kindergarten friends!! We were really impressed with how long her story was and the wonderful illustrations she drew. Many friends couldn't wait to get to writing to try to write a story like their new 3rd grade friend. She also left the story with us so we take our time and look at /read it some more. She even said she would write us another story... how lucky are we?! She sure is a famous person in the eyes of our class.

On Halloween Mrs. Gray brought in some pumpkins and we had a chance to scoop them out and find seeds for roasting. A few of the seed collection bowls were dropped on the ground...but we still had enough so that everyone could try some :-)

Kindergarten October Community Meeting

During our Kindergarten Community Meeting our head Librarian Mrs. DePerte read two Halloween books to the students.

We then showed our friends how to do the Five Little Pumpkins poem.

After we taught the poem to our friends we all made a craft to help us remember the poem.
Hopefully your student came home and recited the poem for you!

Happy Birthday x 2

WOW!!! October is a popular month for birthdays!! Happy Birthday to another 2 friends!

When We Grow Up

A few weeks ago we learned all about community helpers and jobs. We also talked about what we want to be when we grow up. Here are some of the stations we did.

Counting the "Boo-Boos" on the Doctors.

Counting objects in the counting jar.

Matching numbers on the teachers to dots on the chalk board.

Here we are asking our friends what they want to be when they grow up and graphing the data.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to another friend!
